Wedge Tomb

Situated just 6 kilometres north of Bailieborough in County Cavan are the remains of a now roofless wedge tomb. The monument is standing on a small hillock within an almost ten metre long cairn/mound. The 5.5 metre long gallery is aligned SSW-NNE. The gallery has a fine door-slab still in situ at the western end, to the southwest of the slab is a large displaced roofstone. There are six sidestones remaing on the northside of the main chamber and five on the southside. The remains of double walling can also be seen on the north and south sides of the gallery.
